Anyhow my hull position across all skis is relatively the same as far as being positioned behind a smooth section of hull to allow as little disturbance as possible. I just recently started fishing off a ski and have only done it a couple of times. Ususally after a day on the water (not fishing), when I take the ski out, I open the bilge drains and it just drips a bit.

A couple of days ago I went out trolling for several hours, when I came back and opened the drains, a lot of water came pouring out.

First question: What kind of damage can I cause?

Second question: Can I actually sink the ski?

Third question: How can this be happening? ...

A guy approached me yesterday after i came into shore and started my ski to flush the water out .

He said it sounded like the bearings maybe shot in the shaft and that it sounded like the impellor was

rubbing against something. is this something you can hear , to me it sounds normal.
If he is correct is it a big job .

I went to start the ski before I went (as i always do to make sure it goes) and battery was almost dead

I took jumperleads with me and jumped the ski once it was in the water off the tractor, I went for about a 15 min ride and came back to the beach to stop the engine and see if it would start again - Dead as a doorknob, so i put it back on the trailer and came ...

Hi Jase,

I don't have a Ski yet, but I am interested in getting a Yamaha.. Either GP760, GP800 or XLT1200..... However my friends keep on trying to discourage me by telling me that is very expensive to maintain and the entire motor has to be rebuilt frequently... Would it be possible for you to give me a ballpark cost on a Minor service vs major service and a full engine rebuild, using those ski's?? (i.e. the things you would typically do with your own ski)

I just need to get my head ...

Hi Guys,

Was washing down my ski yesterday and as I was peering into the back compartment when I noticed the instructions on the battery breather hose. 'Battery may explode if breather hose not connected' + diagram

I'd always wondered what the spare hose with clip was lying in the bottom and I think I've seen someone else ask the question on the forum.

The ski's even been in for a service and no one picked it up!! Clips onto the back of the battery.
