Roller trailer

Roller trailer
Hi,
Anyone out there got a roller trailer? I've had my trailer lowered to make launching easier but, I tend to launch from a high tide boat ramp and getting the ski off at low tide is not easy!! Moving 400kgs of ski on those skids takes lots of grunting and groaning while the guys with boats and roller trailers just give the boat a quick push.

Re: Roller trailer
I have a roller trailer with my new ski. However I have always had pads previously and 2 of my last 3 boats have had pads also.
Best Tip and only real tip that seems to work very well with pads is the following:
When ski is off the trailer spray the both pads down with a silicone spray. If you do this however DO NOT whilst on the ramp and away from the water unhook the safety chain and the winch cable or else you ski/boat will probably end up on the concrete. I would usually only recommend spraying down one skid/pad but two is so much better.

Re: Roller trailer
I have a roller trailer and I doubt I could use the ones with the pads for beach launching as sometimes we have to winch them back up off the sand at some weird angles !

Thanks
Thanks guys,
The rollers look excellent but, for the interim, I may just try some silicon spray...warning noted.

Just putting my bit in here... totally agree with the silicon idea... its what I do and the ski slides off easily every time!
Only 3 sleeps to go and I will be heading down your way Julian.... hope Santa is kind to you this week!!

Re: Roller trailer
Silicon spray is definately the way to go , I used to struggle big time launching 400kgs of Ultra 250... sprayed a few times and now its easy as pie , now I just give it a spray every 2nd launch or so.

Re: Roller trailer
I imported my ski from the UK last year, the one I owned over there rather than sell it. Roller trailers are all the rage over there and I've only ever owned one ski where the trailer had slides. So I guess it's all I'm used to and was a surprise to see new trailers here using slides still.
I guess it wouldn't be to hard to convert to rollers to save the cost of buying a complete new trailer?
Silicon spray is the way for sure when you have slides.

Re: Roller trailer
I myself had used both types and with my next ski will probably go slides. I can't jusify the expense and I think it is just as easy when the skids are preped as you say.
