JETSKIFISHING Fishing Contest
Hi Crew, well as you can see our Jetskifishing community is growing rapidly and of course all your support helps every bit. We obviously are only a small percentage of the keen jetskifishoes and there will be many that don't even comprehend the concept or know of the website!
I have been discussing with a few of the eager forum users the idea of a tournament of some type. I am open to ideas and will do all I can to administrate and host such an idea. If any of you have experience or want to help with the behind the seens side of things, please speak up. It would be great if we can include some of our out of town members as it will more than likely be fished in the Hauraki Gulf over the next month.
I personally have visioned a King of Jetskifishing Trophy, one for best King fish and one for best Snapper? How does that come across, with appropiate prizes, depending on entry fees etc.
Other things to consider, would we make it a one day event or two day etc, 1 person per ski or two?
So much to organise to make it a great event, the is the first big step for the sport to really make an impact on the greater boating community, with 70 odd skis all fishing at once we are bound to land some really respectable fish and have a lot of fun.
Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew The Fishing comp sounds like a great idea. Here is a link to the biggest comp in Australia. The entry form may give you some ideas re rules and regulations etc. The only stipulation I think you should be careful of is that all skis must have all the appropriate safety gear as a pre condition of entry. Good luck with it all, you should hit up Iain Mcleod for some Yamaha prizes. they have some good wet weather gear waterproof watches etc

Hi Guys.
I have made a few contact with Jetski fishers at Matarangi and some of them are going to check out the site. I was even getting people interested in getting a group of JetSki fishers down to Matarangi for a weekend comp....
Perhaps a group of us should meet to consolidate ideas?
Keith
