I am now on my ........ 4th ....I think ??? Only reason they have been lost is too carefree to always clip it down and get a little too crazy in some choppy rough water and woooops there goes another. So what is my preference? The best to go for in my mind that offers the best value for money is the Berkley rubber net(as seen in my recent photo from Fridays session). This has however been modified (shortened) and is my second one of these with two other being retractable. The problem with the retractable ones is purely that, always having to extend them and timing is never right when a fish has smashed your bait !!! They were good for lower profile and less windage when down but to be honest I found them a pain in the %$#@ and I do not trust the pushin clip thing. My first berkley however I always found a tad lonmg and this caused a fair amount of windage.

So the 4th (The Red Berkley)has been reduced in length by 33cm (from memory) as sitting on the ski this length felt right for the distance I need to reach into the water etc. It also now sits almost as low as a retractable but is ready to go when I need it. It also has an elastic cord out of the handle end which is great for clipping on to secure it. The other day I landed a fish whilst still clipped on which was pretty easy due to the elastic but I would prefer not to have it clipped. So at $60 this net in my mind is one of the best options available.

Top Catch Halm Moon Bay sell them. See Tania, tell her you are a JETSKIFISHING forum member and I am sure she will look after you.

Thanks for the great info Mark, Sounds like a Berkley net it is. I will have to make a trip to Topcatch.

Off to Karapiro now to watch the GP hydroplanes!
