Hi fellow Aussies,
Am back with a ski this time!
Got a nice 3 seater Yamaha gx 700. It's a 2 stroke. Could'nt afford the 4 stroke.
Have been out once up here in Noosa after fitting 2 rod holders.
There seems to be a run of mackerel but I did'nt get any.
Not many other jet ski fisho's up here, at the moment.
Hooter, look forward to meeting you. Those Frazer trips look amazing.
My name is Vaughan from Cooroibah.
I wrote a long letter last friday for the forum and subsiquently lost it.....bummer.
Anyhow look forward to catching a few.
Great fun off the ski, better than paddling my kayak all morning!
Vaughan.

WELCOME !! They are very reliable those Yamaha 2 Strokes and at the end of the day any ski is better than no ski (or paddling a kayak!!)

We all look forward to your reports to come. Remeber to take the camera with you cheers

Welcome Castaway to the wonderful exciting world of jet ski fishing. Glad you got a 3 seat er the bigger the better when it comes to stability when using a PWC as a fishing platform. The main downside with the two stroke is the fuel range limitation but thats no big deal unless you are going a long way offshore. Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharaba are a nice base for you . Just watch the Fun Police on the Noosa River, Plenty of good fishing options for you close by. Jew Shoal, Sunshine Reef, North Reef and Chardons all fish well at most times of the Year. You may even bag a sailfish or a small black marlin at Chardons over summer.

I am pretty tied up over the Xmas and New year period with family commitments but would love you to come out with us for a fish in the new year. Keep posting on this forum as lots of good information is available on here.

Cheers Hoot
