Riva Air Filters Empty Riva Air Filters

Hi Jase

Are their any issue around using a Riva/Yamaha air filter on a FX 160 HO... I have bought one but notice the filter is quite coarse. Is there a chance moisture orsalt residue could be drawn into the engine...with a paper filter i assume all moisture would be trapped/obsorbed by the paper filter...have you seen any issues here.

The filter in a genuine Yamaha/Riva filter. Also I still have the old/standard flame inhibitors on the carb intakes....

When running with the new filter I get another 3-4kph and its quicker out of the hole...Very Happy

cheers
Keith

When using a aftermarket filter you always run the risk of water intrusion, the reason you pick up so many revs is because the stock set up is deigned to keep water out and also restricts air flow.
There is nothing wrong with aftermarket filters just take more care when washing your engine down.
