Grey imports and parallel imports are an interesting topic, keeps retailers honest though. What I find amusing is, if a retailer believes the product they sell is as wonderful they say being reliable and quality etc, whats the difference of you buying the same direct from the US. There is no worries buying a grey import as it is the same product, just the following issues you need to be aware of.
You will have more difficulty sourcing parts, if there is an issue for warranty it is going to cost you! BRP service agents may not choose to service the ski out of principal.
Tough call, as it is cheap, but for a 10-15% saving I wouldn't take the risk, especially on a new model that I know there has been the odd issue with in the first few months... that have required warranty support.

$21K really should be closer to $30K. There will be no manufactuers warranty and if selling through trademe in an auction there is no protection for the buyer. However if Buy Now is used the trader is then governed by the Consumer Gurantees Act.

With regard to other "grey imports" just watch out for things that don't look right. e.g hours on the ski compared to condition. Very easy for them to change instrument panel of a damaged low hour ski etc (this has happened on several imports that were brought cheap as used as rental skis in the states).

As for the RXT-X that Woodbine had, that is a very good buy. Hey the IS may be ok but check it out throroughly first, even to the point of checking which dealership in the US or Canada sold it to the importer, try and get some history if you can. If the history stacks up then it could be the buy of the year !!!
