Fish finder/GPS on Kawasaki STX15F
There are lots of comments re Yamaha's with convenient cup holders and Seadoos with a slightly larger glove box but has anyone attached a fishfinder / gps to a Kawasaki ?
Tried to measure up the glove box but it is not an even shape (wider at top than bottom) and there seems no where else to attach easily these items.
Also looked at the sensor position - has anyone attached sensor under step attachment using something like Andrew's stainless steel bracket as seems to be a slightly different configuration from the Yamaha step i.e. closer to jet output.
Any thoughts? Liked the idea of non-attached unit in glove box as more secure when parked around on street and didn't someone use a separate battery in the glove box with it? Mark ?
cheers
Andrew

Re: Fish finder/GPS on Kawasaki STX15F
I don't mind having a closer look and doing some charity time coming up with some ideas. See how you go this weekend and if you or the others have not come up with a wonderous idea, I can come over and give my two cents worth.
Have a good weekend crew and good luck if you get out there. Remember its not about how many fish you catch, it how much fun you have while you are out there.
Cheers, Andrew

Not sure with your model Kawasaki but with the Ultras you can remove the casing around the handle bars (in the centre) which exposes a main bar. A finder can then be clamp mounted onto this bar if you decide you like that option. You would just need to have enough extra cabling to not restrict turning etc.

Kawasaki and fishfinder
I shall spend some time tomorrow after all kids soccer with a screwdriver to see if casing comes off.
There certainly is a large amount of plastic around the handle bars - hopefully not for a good reason.
My other thought was to try and replace the cover of the glovebox with an inset unit and then can always remove the new cover with fishfinder when not using it. Anyway things for tomorrow.
Thanks for the ideas anyway - then there is what to buy and how to get at best price vs service

Kawasaki STX15F and fishfinder/GPS
Seems Yamaha's are easier to find places to attach transducers and the FF.
Anyway have had some thoughts about the Kawasaki fit.
If remove small glovebox and replace with another flat cover and then bolt the FF onto the cover will have a tilt and swivel FF where glove box was.
Transducer is more problematic as Kawasaki seems to have less ready made anchor points.
Thought of using the bung hole and attach a piece of stainless steel sideways and then attach transducer to this (large hole in SS to allow bung still to work.
Anyone any other ideas based on photo below - will ask guys at JFK tomorrow as in for a service but open to any other suggestions. e.g. what to use for replacement cover. also is a small hole for transducer wire to get inside hull the best option or can you mount transducer inside hull as per Taurangajet's pictures
