Post  softbaiter on Mon Aug 24 2009, 10:47

Well ive been a bit of a hermit lately and havent been out on the ski for about 6 weeks, last time I did it was pretty fricken cold in my springsuit.

Im going to buy a steamer or longjohn wettie and was wondering if anyone has any hookups for these ?

Ive been fine the times I go out in my spring suit, I do wear wetsuit sock, a balaclava, gloves & a sweatshirt also though on the cold mornings, plus its a lot warmer now than it has been.

Wetsuit and booties

Post  aleigh on Mon Aug 24 2009, 11:37

I got a 3mm steamer wetsuit and wetsuit bootie (no zip so doesn't scratch the jetski) at Top Catch at Half Moon Bay Marina. Andrew said mention that he'd sent me and they gave some discount. Think both were $130 so though not top brand or quality they will do the job - that is nonce I get a nice day coinciding with no other activities.

Hi Softbaiter, your Spring suit may be fine now, as we may be through the worst of the really cold days, start preping for Summer.

Sorry was supposed to read socks not sock, they are literally like socks made from wetsuit material, not full boots with zips etc.

ah yep, i understand, they actually would make a good addition to my kit, wore crocs last year, but apart from them being non-asthetically pleasing they came off a lot, actually ended up loosing them near rangi. possibly the reason for the dead fish and dogs? Razz Razz

We went out on Saturday late morning it was overcast and cold to start but became very hot as the day got on .
Full 3.2mm wetsuit , balaclava , gloves , dive boots and snow jacket . I think we are getting closer to the warmer weather in the next few weeks .
