wet suits.. which one? Empty wet suits.. which one?

Post  mudrunner Wed Mar 03 2010, 01:58

as the title suggests, im looking for some advice on what wet suit to buy.

i have no background in surfing etc, but now i'll need one for fishing on the jetski. early research shows me that there are wet or dry suits, short sleve, long sleve, cheap and expensive ones, etc.

i live in moreton bay, oz. and the temps here dont get that cold. so im really not looking for warmth, although our mild winter is approaching. im assuming that a pfd2 will add to the warmth anyway.

any help or advice would be much appreciated... Very Happy

Yeah I would have said no need for one in your location...........however all depends on what your sea temp gets to over winter, how far out you travel, will you usually be on your own and how long in the worst case scenario could you last in the water for, if your ski sunk? These are some of the questions I would consider. Wetsuits do certainly add to the safety aspect when out solo or going out wide and also will aid flotation.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I have only just read your first post.

Cheers from NZ, where in winter the wind chill on the skis goes into the minuses !!!
