I would advise against the cruiser seating option just so you have as much free movement as possible.

Only my opinion.

I would second those comments the cruiser seat is not suitable for fishing you need to able to move freely from the front to the back. Re the 2009 models I suggest you email Iain Macleod at Yamaha Australia and ask him that question here is his email contact I_MacLeod@yamaha-motor.com.au

I suppose I should not comment due to no experience riding a cruiser seat, was just my assumption and when I think about how much I slide around back and forth all the time and when really in the rough stuff my riding position is well back and constantly on and off the seat absorbing waves with my legs etc.

Thanks TJet. Are the raised cushion parts relatively soft or are the quite firm?

FX HO seating - Opinions Empty very soft

Post  taurangajet Sat Jan 17 2009, 20:50

Hi,

The back rest on the cruiser seat is very soft and if you sit on it, it squashes right down. When my daughters driving, I sit on it behind her so that I can have my hands on or near the handle bars. No issues turning round and lying down.

I guess if your not sure about which you prefer, ask to sit on them in the shop.

One point worth raising is the life span of the cruiser seat, I think given the softer foam and softer cover, it may wear faster.
