I'm pretty keen after having to stay off the water last weekend! Will see how the weather is and seek her who must be obeyed's permission.
Oooops. Just realised I'll be in Wgtn and don;t get back until Sat night. Have a good one!

Re: SATURDAY 15TH LOOKING GOOD HMB 7.OOAM
Guys ,
Not trying to put a damper on this weekend but found this below on the fishing website , is it still in place ?
Important public health advice for Hauraki Gulf and Great Barrier Island
Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) is unable to rule out the risk to the public for the Hauraki Gulf and Great Barrier Island until results from testing are received.
ARPHS is confirming the following advice to the public for the Hauraki Gulf, includingGreat Barrier Island:
People should avoid contact with sea water and sea life
People should avoid exercising pets along beaches
Children should not be taken to beaches
People should not collect shellfish, or eat fish/seafood from these areas
People should cease fishing, swimming and diving activity
ARPHS is continuing to work with Department of Conservation (DOC), local and regional councils, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Biosecurity NZ (MAFBNZ) and Ministry of Fisheries (MoF).
ARPHS will continue to advise the public on any public health precautions that may be required.
Pet owners are advised to contact their local veterinary clinic should their pet develop symptoms after visiting the beach. People developing any symptoms within approximately an hour of exposure to sea water or sea life should see their GP and inform ARPHS on (09) 6234600.
Further questions relating to public health issues can be directed to: Auckland Regional Public Health: (09)6234600
Questions relating to unusual numbers of dead fish or other marine life can be directed to: Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Biosecurity (MAFBNZ): 0800809966 or Department of Conservation (DOC) 0800 362 468
For further information contact Auckland Regional Public Health Service

I have to admit this is why I have been keeping off the water... just not really worth the risk really. I may well come out for a ride, but as for fishing I would rather know for sure that anything I catch will be safe to eat. I'll keep watching the news...

Re: SATURDAY 15TH LOOKING GOOD HMB 7.OOAM
The latest update from 4:00am this morning:
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10590417
Also states in a related article that dogs were getting sick two months ago. Still no answer to to thousands of pilchards, several dolphins, and other specied that have also been found dead!!
I would say the pilchards are related to the 1080 bait drop on Motutapu and Rangitoto. I know of two boats and a kayak that got peppered with these tiny pellets whilst fishing when the helicopters turned around to do their next run over the island....for some reason this has been kept well out of the media.
Tiny poisonous pellets that are not very soluable eaten by pichards, pilchards then eaten by dolphins and the odd pilchard eaten by gannets which have also had one or two show up dead.
CONSPIRACY THEORY OR WHAT!!

Re: SATURDAY 15TH LOOKING GOOD HMB 7.OOAM
Nah!!! Maybe you could go be a weather forecaster with that recommendation Chris !!
My pick is that it will be pretty crap all day today (Friday) and into the night and ease up by midnight. Then Saturday morning will be around the 10 - 15 knot mark easing as the day progresses to as little as 5 knots by midday then picking back up to say 10 - 15 knots in the afternoon. There is no rain at all on the rain radar for the morning but after lunch there may be a little.
If I get out it will be the hard out rampage as I need to be back at home by 8:40am !!!

Ok this will sort the Seahogs from the real Jetskifishos. I know the weather can be wrong, yet I am realistic tomorrow maybe a bit crappy. I am still going hunting for some 1080 Snapper, who is joining me at 6.30 for the Ahaaha's?
