Sunday maybe
assuming the ewather forecast is moderately accurate I could be interested in Sunday about 1pm (supposedly the best bite time is 1am and 1pm so maybe a goer)
Since it fathers Day I'd better be around Sunday morning but would be keen for a fish Sunday afternoon.
If interested give us a call 2729942 or txt 021 2564483
As my softbaiting rod has not arrived for Fathers Day I will be trying my luck with more traditional methods involving small squid.

Re: weekend looking good for gannet
Well I guess the bear might be an advantage (would be good for wake boarding if on the back of the jetski), but I'll have to rely on the hungry fish wanting a taste of Topcatch squid.
Not sure how far I'll go out so any areas closer in that might be nice to catch fish on a more traditional rig would be nice. Where did Fishoe catch the fish this week around Browns Island? Maybe near Crusoe Rock or other side of Motuihe.

Sunday cruise on the water
Apart from the rod acompanying me it was a fishless day (maybe DOC has killed them all).
Went to BB ramp at about 1am - had it all set except for the key to turn on the jetski. 20 minutes later have key after big favour from wife.
In the mean time Innsie has turned up to try out Fishoes little fish island (brown Island) and beyond.
After catching him round the back of Browns Island we proceed to Crusoe Rock and try some drifting (me with my squidy friends on a ledger rig and Insie with the real deal). Bought all I caught was a piece of sea weed when I drifted too close to the rock and then Innsie went elsewhere to try for better luck.
Went round back of the rock on Motuihe side but still little sign and after a couple of drifts with my rig, had no rig attached to the line anymore. Still better than Innsie who when I caught him at the ramp again said he had tried fishing with his mobile.
Anyway a beautiful day on the water and was fun getting out. Fish still seem to be patchy.

ALeigh - great to catch up mate. Sorry I brought 2-Xtremes bad fortune to the trip... ohh he's started catching them again hasn't he? Yep - one lost blackberry, cash and drivers license all overboard. Some days you're better off staying home. I will be out this weekend though Gannet may have some fish left.
