Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
Looking at hitting the water either Sat afternoon or early Sun morning. Anyone keen?
Think 2-Xtremes in 6am Sun at this stage. For you newbees to the sport, Mark's the next rung down sea god that we all aspire to emulate. Don't you love putting people under pressure to perform

For some reason I thrive on pressure and have a competitive nature, so a recent psychometric analysis tells me!!!
As for catching fish.........I wish I was more consistant and I am still to get the elusive John Dory from my ski????
Thanks for the pressure Innsie, bring on Sunday.

Mark, I KNEW you needed a psyche profile test! The real test is sitting those tests more than once and getting the same result. Good to see they're letting you out of the padded cell for a fish.
The JD's are mine. Seriously, how'd you not catch one last week when YOU took us to your spot and everyone else was hooking them up? May be yours just isn't long enough to reach the JD spot.

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
Right thanks for your $1000 worth........... my theory is..... John Dory are very weak swimmers therefore will not (or cannot) attack any fast moving baitfish or soft baits for that matter. I reckon my soft bait technique is too aggressive as opposed to the more relaxed lazy style. The depth my bait dives too certainly is in the area to hit the spot, but as I have said I think its gone again before the JD can react. Traditionally softbaiting is not about what bait you use, more so how you use it. However for JDs it does seem that the technique needs to be more relaxed and calm.

Saturday 31st
Well hope you guys get well fished.
Looks like the wind will be getting up later Saturday and quite windy Sunday (if you believe Swellmap).
Roll on the still mornings of Summer I reckon (with no Saturday morning kids activities)

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
hey Mark and Innsie,
would love to join you guys tomorrow at HMB @ 6.00am
I havent launched there before so may need some guidance.
Innsie, i meet you at the Top Catch place, is the boat ramp just arround the corner at the end of the road?
Anyway i ll be there in a Silver Hiace van with a red Kawaski behind me at 6.00.
Will follow you guys and learn.
Looks like when we get out there the tide will be turning, is this still okay for fishing?
what do you usually take and how long are you guys out there for?
Anyway, give me a txt if your plans change but i'll be waiting for you guys at HMB.
Cheers Alex

I will be launching at Bucklands Beach and I am sure Innsie will also (but I am not 100% he may confirm).
Wind may be up as high as 15 knots first thing but I am picking more like 10 knots dropping down to 5knots then back up again as the day progresses.

Hey Ducky why Channel 69?? Most fishos on here surf 16 and 6 with 6 being used for comms between skis. 69 ok but I would recommend you tune in to 6 as this what the majority use and I have used for a couple of years so hard to break old habits and you can guarantee I will forget 69......................maybe not.
If anyone is VHF less or cannot get hold of me I am on 021 502289 text as oppossed to ring, much easier to reply to and also coverage does not need to be great for texting.

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
hey guys, I wish you well for the morning hunt. I will be there in mind only and not body.
on the VHF note, for those who didn't make it to the soft baiting night at Top Catch on Thursday, pay attention to this!!
Most Charter boat captains use/talk on channel "1",.... and from here stray to channel "6" to discuss boil ups/work ups. These guys do this for a living and need to support each other and in doing so, give away their hot spot. This is usually out wide, but one of the great things about jetski fishing is that you can cover this ground very quickly!!
"just sharing with the team; may u all feel the pull of the snap snap"

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
hey guys,
thanks for the effort today and patience with my early morning ski not working.
i installed a new battery 2 months ago and have not used the jetski since.
On charge now, but so guttered seeing you guys take off this morning.
I cant wait to hear what fish you caught and kick myself for it.
battery on charge now and im still pissed off as this day is so perfect.
sorry once again and thanks for your patience.
Hope to be there with you next weekend if your keen, has got my blood even more hungry to get out there.
Let me know when you next plan is to hit the water?
cheers Neil and Mark.

Sunday 1st - flat battery
Hi there Newbie,
Sorry to hear about the flat battery - have taken to charging battery day before each trip now as not something I want to be flat on the water. Worse that could have happened to you was starting at BB boat ramp then not starting again on the water - so consider it a blessing that it didn't start at the beginning of the trip as it could have been a different trip otherwise (though I think 2-Extreme has jumper cables under the seat)
I too will be interested in the trip as looking out my window the day looks great with just a hint of wind in the nearby poalm tree over here in Legoland (Dannemora)
Andrew

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
Cheers for that advice Andrew.
Will diffinatly charge the night before, yeah best i see it as a blessing as i was kicking myself with the beautiful day.
Innsie said he caught six fish and the biggest 65 cm (not bad). sounded though it was hard work.
I will be ready and hungry next Sat or Sun if anybodys keen, i swear ill be first in the water and engine warmed up ready to go.
Let me know time and place you guys thinking of going.
cheers

Re: Sunday 1st Nov - 6am Bklds
As for Innsie's fish ... I'd be more than happy with half the 65cm, but then again I guess you get a little picky as you get more and more fish.
Sounds like an interesting day with someone doing acrobatics over a ferry wake.
2-Extreme and Andrew may be happy to cross wakes at speed but like they say the less experience you have (that's me) the more respect you have for wakes and the large red ferry creates a very large wake. Usually slow right down and drive slowly as have already nose dived on lesser swells.
Well wish you luck with your first outing with the guys.

ROFLMFAO
Mark, now i've heard it all, you are sounding like a politician, btw, 5 1/2 pounds my JD came in at, damn fine eating too.
You only need to be an ex school teacher or farmer to get into politics (or more recently activist or futures trader) the psychometric evaluation is not required for that vocation.
